We have all had that knock at our door, that one that was made by a fundraiser who is asking for money. These people canvas neighborhoods in there search for that candy sale or donation for some fund. Many of us will help so we don’t come across as stingy or it is a good cause and we feel obligated to the young eyes staring at us.
This is what the companies who generate this type of business count on and after all, who can turn down that small child who knocked on you door in the heat of the afternoon. This type of method, if done more often, would cause us to put up No Soliciting signs on our homes because we feel pushed into giving, and no one likes to be pushed. We human always want to know what is in it for me. Human nature it is, and if you can give a good answer, you can make that connection.
Giving makes us feel good and creates that happy feeling we wish we had more of. Some people give as a form of legacy, so their name will live on while other give out of guilt. You see the homeless, dirty guy on the corner with is sign claiming to be a vet and we do the comparison of him to us and feel we need to help.
